Life is filled with transition steps. Going to college, getting married, kids, career changes, divorce, empty nest..... Whether you feel like you’re about to jump off a cliff or dip your toe timidly into a pool of cool water, how you navigate these steps will determine your happiness, your fulfillment, and your sense of purpose and power in all parts of life.

We don't always have a choice about the transitions we face. Life can wreak havoc on our plans just as easily as it grants us the deepest desires of our hearts.

Sometimes life is predictable and joyful!  Our loved ones are healthy. The promotion came through with a big raise. We just closed on our dream home. At other times, life's utterly out of our control. Illness, layoffs, relationship troubles.... These things can take us by surprise and destroy our hope and confidence.

No. We can't always choose the transitions we face. But we can always choose how we'll  react and act when the unexpected or unwanted thing happens. We can choose who we'll be in each situation...for good or ill.

Here's what I mean. Think of a person who has gotten a great new job or found their perfect soulmate. She's thrilled at the beginning. But after that initial infusion of excitement, she becomes stressed out at work or disenchanted with a once beautiful romance.

Now think of a person who has gotten a bad medical report or lost a job. But instead of being down, she keeps a positive mindset and does what needs to be done to restore the life she wants. What makes the difference in these two cases? What allows one woman to thrive in adversity, while the other woman sabotages her success?

Put simply, each woman is taking different INTENTIONAL STEPS every day to create the life they're living. One woman creates possibility out of tragedy. One creates failure out of success.

Every one of us is in the same boat. We take intentional steps every day to create our lives. And to a large extent, we have allowed our lives to become precisely what they now are by the choices we've made...or refused to make.

The good news is that it's never too late to make better choices and take steps toward the lives we want and deserve.

Happiness, fulfillment and purpose don't happen because of the big choices we make. It's the small, seemingly insignificant, often unconscious choices we make each day that accumulate...step by step...to create the person we are and the life we lead.

Want to begin taking the right steps toward the life you  want?  Want to learn to navigate life transitions...the big ones and the everyday ones...in a healthy and life-changing way?

Most people who struggle with self-confidence tend to think of it as an all or nothing thing…especially when confidence is in short supply. Either you’re confident or you’re not. You have the wherewithal to get through this challenge or you do not. You believe in yourself or you don’t. You’re perfectly confident in your ability …
